What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-rich plasma, also known as PRP, has been used for decades to promote healing properties. More recently, Plasma PRP has been shown to enhance skin rejuvenation and stimulate hair growth. Plasma PRP uses a concentraion of your own platelets to stimulate your body to grow new, healthy cells. The platelets are often referred to as "liquid gold" due to their rich bioactive proteins and growth factors that promote tissue repair

    1. All PRP-Plasma treatments begin with a blood draw and numbing at the site of injection. The amount of blood sample will depend on where the PRP will be injected

    2. The blood is then placed into a centrifuge to spin and separate the blood components. This process takes approximately 5 minutes

    3. The separated plasma is then prepared for injection. The total length of time for the procedure is 45-60 minutes

    4. You may experience mild scalp tenderness at the injection sites for up to 48 hours. Hair growth may take up to 8 weeks to be visible

    1. If PRP was injected for hair restoration, we recommend no hair washing for 48 hours post treatment

    2. No rigorous exercising or sweating of any kind for 48 hours post PRP Plasma treatment

    3. Take Acetaminophen or Tylenol as directed to minimize discomfort
